Spots (Part 2)

Cain Spots
In the previous post on this topic, I briefly explained what spots mean and gave the major areas for discussion. In this post, I will discuss one type – the Way of Cain. But before I attempt that, it is worth noting that when one is noticed to have any of these characters yet to be explained, he or she does not have a spot in His or Her life. He or she is rather a spot in the body of Christ. That’s how serious this topic is. I want to make this as brief as I can.
The Way of Cain
In Genesis 4:1-12, Cain and his brother Abel went to offer sacrifice unto God. Though this story is familiar to most of us, three main things ensued which identifies Cain’s character in as ‘spots’
·      He chose what to offer to God. He wanted to worship or sacrifice to God in His own way (Genesis 4:3)
·      He envied his brother for offering or worshipping in the acceptable ways (Genesis 4:4)
·      He murdered Abel as a result. Afterwards he didn’t accept his mistakes when God beckoned (Gen 4:9)
Briefly, people with this Cain attitude are spots in the body of Christ, such people;
·      choose what they want to give to God or how they want to worship God, despite the right ways. When it comes to serving God, their own convenience is more important to them
·      envy well to do people, who have done the right things and have been rewarded by God. They disgust such people and might slander them to feel good because they could not be like them. Some might also do worse things though. Cain’s envy moved him to commit the first suicide in the Bible.
·      They refuse to accept their mistakes and make amends. Like Cain, such find it very difficult to admit their errors. After sinning or committing an error, they try to justify themselves, this mostly lead to their doom like Cain.
Cain spots are treading on dangerous grounds. If you find yourself showing such signs repent. If you know any one of that sought, intersession should be your first option to helping him or her
In Christianity, Cain spots tarnish the Bride’s (the Church) image. Christ need them to be helped. Help cleanse bride.
Balaam spots is up for discussion in Spots 3. I’ll share that in my next post.

May the Lord mend our nets!
