Christ will come for the Bride (the church) without spots or wrinkles (Ephesians 5:27).
This means that He will deal with any form of spots or wrinkles that will infiltrate or stain the gloriousness of His bride (the church). As such, it’s worth the pain and efforts to seek to understand what ‘spots and wrinkles’ are, or what they could possibly stand for.
The bride stands for the collective or universal church of God who have been washed by the blood of the lamb. Once we’ve been washed, Christ does not expect stains or spots any longer in His glorious Heavenly abode.
I have a lot to talk about on this topic so I have decided to break the content down into series for easy reading and assimilation. I will tackle Spots in this series.
A spot is defined lexically as a blemish made by dirt or a small contrasting part of something. Per the definition, a spot, though as little and trivial as it can be, can distort the look on ones face or garment. Just one spot in the body of Christ (a church or any church group) needs to be dealt with. Jude 1:11-12 will be our main text of reference. There will be three types of spots under discussion;
Ø The Error of Balaam (Numbers 22-24, 2 Peter 2:15)
Ø The Way of Cain (Genesis 4:5)
Ø The Gain Sayings of Korah (Numbers 16:3)
These types of spots will broaden your whole understanding on the topic. Things will be clearer to you very soon😊.
